If you are a UK tax payer and you are making a monetary donation and, if you fill in a Gift Aid form, we will be able reclaim basic rate income tax back on any that you make. If you are fortunate enough to be a higher rate tax payer, you can also claim some money back through your self assessment return. When completing the form please remember to tick the relevant boxes as to whether you want Gift Aid to apply to just this one donation or to also include any future donations you make to The Trust.

If you sponsor a dog you will be advised of the progress of the dog you are supporting, but we will not be incurring unnecessary costs in such areas as sending Christmas or Birthday cards from Trust dogs, as we assume that any money you are able to donate should be spent on the dogs and not administration. We will not spend money on direct marketing. News items and updates on all our dogs and their progress will be on this website and in the Trust pages of the Freedom of Spirit magazine, If you take out a subscription to the magazine please quote reference fostbc and the magazine will donate £1.00 from your subscription to The Freedom of Spirit Trust for Border Collies.

Legacies

If you don’t think that you are able to make as full a donation as you would want, at this time, the Trust is a registered charity and we cannot see work being completed for the foreseeable future, and so you may wish to consider leaving us a legacy in your will. As with all donations to a Registered Charity, your estate won’t have to pay any inheritance Tax on this sum.

Sponsorship

you can sponsor one of the resident rescue dogs with an annual or monthly donation, please contact The Trust for more details.

You could organize one or more fund raising events and/or we can send you a donation box.

Please see the ‘How your donations can help’ link for a number of items needed for the new kennels, you could raise money towards a specific item or sponsor the whole item.

Volunteers

If you live locally to the Trust, you may be able to help with looking after the dogs, spending quality time with the ‘golden oldies’, dog sitting or dog walking, for those that live further a field, we occasionally need someone to help look after or assist with transport for one of the Trust dogs.
