Jed's a young boy at approximately 2 - 5 year(s) old. Ready for homing but needs a very special and calm home.

Border Collies are not 'pets' they are highly intelligent and very sensitive companions. We are proud of the way our rescue dogs respond to the training we do with them to prepare them for their new homes. Our work is the foundation and we ask all potential adopters to be aware of the hard work involved in the first months of adoption. They don't come perfect they need your time and patience.

Jed has had a very hard young life and is scared of anything that he thinks may hurt him. His natural character is strong and brave but sadly this has been robbed from him through abuse. It took him weeks to begin to trust us and even now a quick movement of the hand will scare him. He has been good at the vets and quiet in when travelling. He has learned to love having affection shown to him but he needs to get to know and trust someone first. We still need to test him with traffic but we do know he can't go where there busy roads. He is good with bitches but suspicious of male dogs. He needs to be the only dog in the home with no children and no cats. Because of his nerves he needs a maximum of no more than two people in the home. He needs to be in calm environment with someone who won't rush him and is prepared to give him all the time he needs to learn to trust them.Th location of his adopter must be within a reasonable distance to the Trust as he will require several visits.

Due to a huge number of adoption enquiries please email your address and post code, number of people in your home, number of children at home or visiting, other dogs or pets in the home, hrs of work during and after Covid. We will not be able to email you back but your information will be filed. this system means that a first time enquiry won't take precedence over the offer of a good home that is already on our file.
Please do not ask for information about dogs under assessment. Thank you.
As always are first responsibility is to the dogs in our care.
Please note we will not be able to consider or respond to any enquiries about a dot until it is ready for homing
